Scottish Power!

Two recent initiatives announced and supported by Scottish Energy Minister Jim Mather and First Minister Alex Salmond, show just how the extreme weather conditions in Scotland are bringing power to the people. These two new initiatives concern a hydro electric scheme capable of powering up to 700 homes and the second relates to the wealth of natural resources in wind, wave and tidal power. Scotland claims to possess within these three natural resource sectors up to 25% of Europes renewable energy potential. Scotland is fast emerging as the powerhouse of marine renewables. (more…)
