Can 10:10 break through the ice?

The annual labour party conference got underway in Brighton on Sunday.

Speaking on the first day of the conference, Ed Miliband, the climate change secretary, called on all Labour councils to sign up to the 10:10 campaign and cut their carbon emissions by 10% by next year. (more…)

Britain to be awash with Wind Turbines

Ed Miliband the British Energy Secretary has announced plans for Britain to deploy 10,000 new Wind Turbines, 6,000 onshore and 4,000 offshore in a drive to reduce carbon emmissions and provide 26 gigawatts of Renewable Energy by 2020. (more…)

Is this energy policy really clean and green?

A major overhaul of the UK’s coal-power ambitions was revealed on Thursday, with the government pledging not to allow any new coal plants unless a proportion of their carbon dioxide emissions are buried underground. No new coal-fired power stations will be built in Britain from now on unless they capture and bury at least 25% of greenhouse gases immediately and 100% by 2025. (more…)
