Our client is a global leader in the Rail Infrastructure services sector.  With a reputation for delivering multi-disciplinary design and build projects, they are building on their continued strong performance, and proven track record, by winning high value contracts across the globe.  As a result of this the client is now inviting applications for the role of Chief Engineer – Power Supply and Distribution, to oversee a large portfolio of rail projects from their offices in Malaysia.

The role is a senior position overseeing the Rail team for power and distribution.  Demonstration of strengths in the area of railway power supply, and distribution are essential.  You will be responsible for all technical aspects of the Railway power supply business;  including but not limited to, traction power generation, 132/33kv incoming supplies and both 25kV overhead Catenary Systems, and 750V DC Third rail systems - Including SCADA controls.  With added duties to include tendering and commissioning, this role is fast paced and challenging.

It is essential that you have circa 20 or more, years’ experience within the Rail industry; specifically within the area of power distribution, Traction power and third rail.  Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering in electrical engineering is essential.  As is familiarity of High voltage electrical safety and grounding, and of National electrical code (NEC) and IEEE standards.  The role will encompass tendering and commissioning therefore the relevant experience in these areas is required.  Previous experience of the design and commissioning of the associated SCADA controls is integral to your application being moved to the next stage.  Applicants who wish to submit their details must have an excellent written and spoken command of the English language and be degree qualified to BSc level or higher.
