With a strong record in multi-disciplinary sector working, our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to take the lead on technical delivery and project management of advisory projects where you will be assisting clients to achieve a high level of environmental performance and to meet their environmental compliance obligations. Permitting experience important.
You will be involved in the technical delivery of a wide range of projects principally in the energy, nuclear, waste and mining sectors although at present you may only have experience in one of these sectors. Accordingly you will be keen to learn new sectors and grow your experience across other areas.
You will be responsible for the Project and financial management of projects as well as delivering and managing work won.
You will ideally have a good 1st or 2.1 degree in geo-environmental, environmental engineering or related subject whilst a Masters or PhD in a relevant subject would be beneficial Chartered to a professional level would also be a plus
What you need
Sufficiency of experience (relevant to salary) in consultancy or related fields
Experience in advisory and environmentally engineering projects
Flexibility in approach and ability to manage a range of projects types and clients
Experience in project direction/management of technical projects
Report writing - Proven ability to organise information and to write clear, concise documents in plain English as well as good verbal and presentational communication skills
Experience in the use of IT tools for data management (such as Excel, Access), and document drafting
Good understanding of UK and European environmental legislation relating to waste, land development, energy and environmental permitting
You may also have:
Experience of the use and limitations of environmental modelling
Ability to build close working relationships with clients and to secure new work
Experience in radiological safety and legislative compliance
Experience of working on a nuclear licensed site
