Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
A major player in the rail and construction industry is looking for an Environmental Manager to lead a team of advisers on a range of prestigious projects across the UK based from the company premises in Hertfordshire.
The role will require you to identify opportunities and drive through environmental business improvement. You will need to focus on areas that could have a negative impact on the business and then eliminate the chance of them happening. Highlighting risk potentials is a key objective for this role, as is working closely with on-site staff. The role involves developing technical audit scopes with clients and colleagues such as asset managers, engineers and principal auditors.
The successful Environmental Manager will need to have good knowledge of environmental management systems including in-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 and current legislation surrounding waste management, ecology, CSR, noise, vibration, planning and consents, WRAP and CL:aire protocol and material management plans. You will definitely have a strong background in construction, civil engineering or rail project work, with a demonstrable appreciation of current CDM regulations.
Excellent communication skills are vital as you will need to interface regularly with personnel at all levels (both contractor and client) so a strong personality is a must, as is the ability to manage complex project requirements and interesting challenges from an environmental management perspective.
Please note that we can only progress applications from candidates who are currently eligible to live and work in the UK.
This is a great opportunity with a large and well established company who offer a great chance to progress throughout the company with relevant training for a positive minded and experienced candidate.
