A major player in the UK civil engineering sector is looking for an Environmental Advisor to work as part of the core client team of Environmental experts on one of the most prestigious engineering projects in the UK today.

The role will require you to identify any issues relating to the project's environmental management and drive through relevant business improvement. You will need to focus on areas that could have a negative impact on the project and then eliminate the chance of them happening. Highlighting risk potentials is a key objective for this role, as is working closely with on-site staff and subcontractors.  The role involves developing technical audit scopes with clients and colleagues such as asset managers, engineers and principal auditors.

The successful Environmental Advisor will need to have good knowledge of environmental management systems including in-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 and current legislation surrounding waste management, ecology, CSR, noise, vibration, planning and consents, and will  definitely have a strong background in construction, civil engineering or rail project work, with a demonstrable appreciation of current CDM regulations. 

Excellent communication skills are vital as you will need to interface regularly with personnel at all levels (both contractor and client) so a strong personality  is a must, as is the ability to manage complex project requirements and interesting challenges from an environmental management perspective.
