A leading UK Civil Engineering/Rail Contractor has an outstanding opportunity for a knowledgeable Site Engineer to join their project teams engaged upon the upgrade of the railway system in the London/South.
East areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Site/Project Manager, you will be responsible the accurate and timely setting out of a variety of structures and foundations including Walkways, Platform Extensions, Piling, Under Track Crossings, Gantry, Signal and Telecommunication bases, retaining walls and Cable Trough’s.

Additionally, you will be accountable for controlling all engineering works including assisting with the planning and programming of works, resolving technical issues, reading and interpreting drawings, supervision and control of sub contract and direct labour, liaison with the clients representatives, production / review of method statements, RFI’s, upkeep of site diary, QA, As Built and Health and Safety, attending progress meetings and assisting in the production of progress reports.

Requirements:

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a minimum of HNC qualified in Civil Engineering with a proven track record of working on Rail Civil Engineering projects. You will be adept in the reading and interpretation of drawings, setting out, resolving technical issues, controlling and prioritising workload, supervising directly and indirectly employed staff, planning an programming of works, checking Quality and ensuring that the laid down systems and processes are adhered to.   

You will be PTS qualified and hold a Full and Valid UK Driving Licence.

As this position requires you to work remotely, sometimes on smaller projects, you should be a standalone Engineer who is capable of carrying out duties with the minimum of supervision.
