A leading UK Civil Engineering / Rail Contractor has an outstanding opportunity to join their project team as a Permanent Way / Civils Site Engineer on the upgrade of the railways system within London
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and engineering works of the Permanent Way and Drainage parts of the scheme including accurate and timely setting out, controlling all technical activities and the supervision of sub contract and directly employed operatives.
Additionally, you will be accountable for resolving technical issues, reading and interpreting Permanent Way and Drainage drawings, carrying out track surveys, liaison with the clients representatives, production / review of method statements, RFI’s, upkeep of site diary, QA and health and safety, attending progress meetings and assisting in the production of progress reports.
Requirements:
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a minimum of HNC qualified in Civil Engineering with a proven track record of working on Permanent Way or Rail Civil Engineering schemes. You will be adept in the reading and interpretation of Track Design Drawings and surveying / setting out equipment and techniques, Stressing and Tamping, checking Quality and ensuring that the laid down systems and processes are followed and complied with. Also, you will have previous experience of carrying out Hand Back Checks, excavation methods, As-Built records, upkeep of site diary and H&S on site.
