Logistics Site Clerk

Ref: J5214
Location: London
Category: Transport Communication Systems
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Major player in the upgrade of London's transportation network has an urgent requirement for a Logistics Site Clerk who can provide a professional support function to the logistics department of a flagship project.

The role would suit someone with experience of working for a large logistics provider, especially one with a marine interface, as it will involve ensuring contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, documents are accurately recorded and database records are maintained, as well as the checking of shipping, site and weighbridge records to verify payment

You will have a good understanding of handling all records and information relating to the movement of goods, equipment and materials handling, and maintaining record of all cross checks of tonnages loaded and/or discharged from vessels engaged in the contract, specifically relating to waste management and contaminated land.

You will have good IT skills as there will be a large element of producing accurate and timely reports on contract milestones and contractor performance, as well as closely tracking the logistics schedule to advise the management team of any risk or deviation to the logistics timetable and movement plan.

You will be based within an easy commute of Essex, and be prepared to spend time roving to sites in central London. Please note that this role may well require some working out of hours, including night time cover of ship loading and unloading activities, in line with the tidal patterns and shipping schedule (potentially up to 1 week of nights per 4-weekly period) as well as being part of an on-call rota for emergency site attendance also in operation.

This is a really exciting chance to join a major project that is changing the face of London today.
