Lead Design Engineer - Water industry

Rate circa £27/hr Ltd

Our client is one of the worlds leading multi-disciplinary consultancies working across a diverse range of industry sectors. A need has arisen within the business to bring in a Project Manager/Lead Design Engineer within the Water industry to undertake the following duties:

Develop Client Relationships;
* To ensure that robust outline and detailed designs for infrastructure are delivered
* Review and approve designs prepared by consultants and the undertaking of in-house outline design
* To be the point of contact for guidance of construction issues from the Contractor
* Support other departments on any technical and business issues related to water distribution network design and infrastructure assets
* Liaise with Operations team to ensure their activities and inputs are provided as part of the Business Plan targets and programmes

Requirements;
Candidates must have a strong track record for delivery and management of water distribution and supply projects, leading teams, and developing excellent client relationships.

You will also have a clear and demonstrable technical understanding of water supply and distribution networks and related issues in the following areas:-
* Significant experience and understanding in water infrastructure
* Knowledge of the operation of water supply and distribution networks
* Commercially aware, with an understanding of project/contract management
* Broad technical knowledge of other disciplines
* Determine asset Needs and Options for investment and capital maintenance planning
* Leakage including design and implementation of leakage management schemes
* Water mains design and rehab / maintenance analysis & planning 
* Knowledge of hydraulic modelling software, telemetry and GIS
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

You must also have:
* Chartered Engineer preferred
* The ability to prioritise varying workloads
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to communicate effectively with operational staff and with senior managers
* A very strong team-player
* UK driving license
