Following the award of a Rail infrastructure improvement scheme in Worcestershire, my client, a leading UK Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking to recruit a career orientated Site Engineer who has previous experience of working within the UK's Rail sector on major Bridge / Structures related schemes.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Engineer / Site Agent, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely setting out of a variety of structures, including retaining walls, bridges and foundations.

Additionally, you will be accountable for assisting with the planning and programming of works, resolving technical issues, reading and interpreting drawings, supervision and control of sub contract and direct labour, liaison with the clients representatives, production / review of method statements, RFI's, upkeep of site diary, QA, As Built and Health and Safety, attending progress meetings and assisting in the production of progress reports.

Requirements:
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a minimum of HND qualified in Civil Engineering with a proven track record of working on major civil engineering projects for a National Civil Engineering contractor working on rail civil engineering infrastructure upgrade projects in the UK.

You will be adept in the use of Total Stations and Levels and be able to set out complex structures with the minimum of supervision. Also, you should be able to plan and programme works, read and interpret drawings, resolving technical issues and control and prioritising workload. Also, you will have gained some experience in supervising directly and indirectly employed staff, checking Quality and ensuring that the laid down systems and processes are adhered to.

You should have the flexibility to travel and work across Southern UK on a mixture of major Rail Civil Engineering Schemes.
