Due to the exceeded demand in their services, one of the UK’s most dynamic rail engineering contractors seeks to employ and electrical engineering professional in the position of Assistant Electrical Engineer.

This is an outstanding opportunity has arisen to join a highly respected and ambitious rail infrastructure company who are looking to expand their power division by appointing an Assistant Electrical Engineer to be based out of their York or Birmingham offices.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting in the department’s Engineering Manager, the Assistant Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to the electrical and power divisions in the business, supporting the relevant departments with allocated schemes of work, technical investigations and resolving technical issues with clients and sub-contractors. Working with the management team, you will assist in making strategic decisions for the development of the various departments as well as supporting the delivery of design, implementation, testing and commissioning work packages. You will work closely with the Electrical Design team, specifically on preliminary designs and mark ups.

Requirements

In order to be considered for the position of Assistant Electrical Engineer, applicants will need to demonstrate and possess the following:

HNC or Equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering disciplines
City and Guilds 2382 is desirable
Experience of working in Electrical design, testing and installation
Knowledge of working practices within the railways
Exposure to AutoCAD and Microstation
Strong communication and a willingness to develop your career
