Bob is a management systems specialist, initially trained as a telecommunications engineer with the then GPO progressing to a manager responsible for “special projects” which included high level complaints from which his interest in management systems grew. Bob joined British Rail in 1990 as Quality Manager Telecommunications where he remained in various roles until joining LUL (BCV) as “Head of SQE Major Projects”. Since leaving LUL, Bob has had a varied career including consultancy work and QSE Director in the recruitment industry.
Bob holds a diploma in safety management (DipSM) and is a member of the International institute of Risk & Safety Management (MIIRSM), an associate member of the Institute of Management & Assessment (AIEMA) together with being an auditor trained in safety, quality and environmental disciplines.
Achievements
Within British Rail Bob was the first to achieve ISRS level 5 for the signalling and telecommunications division. Bob has obtained quality (ISO9001) safety (BS18001) again one of the first in the recruitment sector and environmental (ISO14001) certification for a number of companies. Bob is particularly pleased to have developed a number of his team members who have gone on to achieve significant management positions.
Interests
Bob is married with a grown up daughter, enjoys going to the theatre, mainly musicals. He is keen on travel and likes to see new countries and cultures. He keeps his interest in electronics alive by holding an amateur radio licence, designing and building his own amateur radio equipment.
