Dan Chetty was a successful IT recruiter and he looks back on his career in IT in a positive light. During his 5 years in IT recruitment he learnt his craft, gained in depth sector knowledge, developed a strong network of client and candidate connections and made numerous lucrative deals.
However, as his career developed he felt the need to find a more autonomous working environment where he could have the breathing space to do his job and recruit in a way that adds value. He wanted to focus on his strengths, and to do more of what actually provides results rather than working to pointless KPIs and call statistics.
Dan immediately saw the synergies between IT and engineering and construction recruitment – both are highly technical sectors. He was first drawn to Resourcing Solutions as a potential employer due to their long established history, spanning 20 years. Not to mention that 90% of their clients have been with the business right from the start and the numerous PSL’s that were in place to enable Dan to hit the ground running. He could also see future stability given the investment in so many infrastructure projects in the sector.
Mature Working Environment
Dan was also attracted to the mature working environment and the established candidate database as well as the high levels of self-sufficiency he could have in his role. The broad ranging benefits package also appealed, focusing not only on rewarding financially but also work-life balance opportunities. He felt that the opportunity to earn homeworking and flexitime was a major selling point, particularly as his personal life was changing.
Dan Chetty joined Resourcing Solutions in 2015 and specialises in the placement of permanent candidates across the engineering and construction sector. He is glad he made the move from IT recruitment and would be more than happy to speak to anyone else thinking of making the leap as well!
