I am currently on the lookout for a Senior H&S Consultant to work for a leading design consultancy based in London.
This is a permanent position and would suit someone that comes from a design biased consultancy background. Office based position opposed to boots on the ground.
To provide design health and safety support solutions for internal and clients in the ensuring compliance with duties imposed by CDM 2015.
These services will vary across the range of strategic guidance and planning, design risk management, procedures, audits and developing and implementing training programmes.
To provide general health and safety advice and systems support for a range of external clients.
To work as a member of the firm’s Health and Safety Consultancy team in providing health and safety services to both internal and external clients.
Responsible for carrying out the full range of design health and safety and risk management services.
Although the post is initially aimed at supporting design activities the Consultancy services can include all of the strategic, tactical and operational aspects of our clients’ businesses. These will include writing policies and standards, carrying out inspections and audits, writing project progress reports, engaging directly with clients on a project basis (may be sole responsible for the client’s relationship).
Also actively contribute to the business development of the team and the wider company, assisting with bids and proposals. Independence in managing financials of projects is a key requirement as is the ability to establish long term client relationships and to identify potential opportunities.
Able to identify and address differences and assist in resolving potential conflicts.
Can be firm whilst maintaining good relations with all parties.
Is able to liaise with stakeholders and manage sensitive relationships.
Able to maintain good communications with the client.
Able to succinctly report progress to the client and author reports which do the same.
Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams.
Able to front corporate training in a knowledgeable and authoritative manner.
First degree in an engineering or science subject.
Chartered Professional (CIOSH or higher qualification or C. Eng).
Experience (5-10 years) of delivering consulting H&S services or substantial design risk experience.
Good client facing skills.
Very good communicator (verbal and written).
Strong influencing skills.
