Our client is seeking a Primary Electrical Engineer to join their busy, multi discipline Design time in Buckinghamshire. Reporting to the Head of Electrical Design, you will lead on projects up to 132kV for ICP, IDNO and Private networks.
The role will predominantly be based in the Head Office close to Milton Keynes with occasional site visits.
The candidate’s abilities should include:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in undertaking contestable, IDNO or DNO non-contestable designs for electrical connections up to 33kV to UK requirements
Be competent in the use of AutoCad
Be able to produce HV network connection single line diagrams, LVAC drawings, multi-core schedules, have a basic understanding of the principals of protection etc
Be experience on the main HV electrical components selection and specification review with the relevant suppliers
Preferably have HV Earthing design experience
Undertake HV/LV cable design and evaluation (derating and short circuit calculations)
Have design project management abilities
Key components tendering and quotation design abilities (e.g. transformer, HV switchgear)
